Muhammad Al-Khwarazmi was a Khorezm mathematician, astronomer, geographer, and one of the first encyclopedic scientists in history. He founded the science of algebra and the term algebra first appeared in his work "Aljabr walmuqabla." Abu Rayhan Beruni was one of the greatest scientists of the Golden Age of Islam and made significant contributions to astronomy, mathematics, physics, geography, history, ethnography, and philosophy. His work "Kitab al-tafhim" written in Persian records the different phases of the moon and discusses astronomy and space phenomena.
